Main Objectives:
The main objectives of the Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana 2.0 (WDC-PMKSY-2.0) are to restore the ecological balance by harnessing, conserving, and developing degraded natural resources such as soil, vegetative cover, and water. The outcomes are prevention of soil erosion, regeneration of natural vegetation, rainwater harvesting, and recharging of the groundwater table.
This enables multi-cropping and the introduction of diverse agro-based activities, which help to provide sustainable livelihoods to the people residing in the watershed area. Funding pattern of WDC PMKSY 2.0 project is 90:10 ratio i.e., 90% Central and 10% State. Released in three installments:
- 1st installment: 25% Preparatory Phase (up to 1 year)
- 2nd installment: 25%, 25%, 15% = 65% Work Phase (2 to 3 years)
- 3rd installment: 10% Consolidation Phase (up to 1 year)
